So, gender roles have been reversed, especially in the past 5-10 years...Women are much more focused about 'getting the job done,' and men are more hesitant about things...Women are also much more extroverted and men are more introverted...Women are expected to do all the work in a relationship, plus the cooking and cleaning, driving the children around, and men are more interested in 'looking good,' with workouts and meal plans...And still, many men are asking, "But what does she bring to the table?"

There ARE women out here past menopause who also have to take an estrogen suppressant (after certain type of breast cancer) for five or more years in the interest of suppressing a recurrence. I liken it to being "neutered," which is actually very freeing. So I'm going to quit with the hilarious "how to please men" videos I ran across in my feed. Back to the doggy and political videos. LOVE dogs and my only issue for the upcoming election is preserving our hard-won democracy. The other issues can be sorted out later, IF we still have a democracy. And then there's the full-time job to attend to. When I do retire, will get myself a couple old shelter dogs to love and give a happy life to. At least they're deserving and appreciative.

This moment contains, through my focus, both positive and negative... I can put my attention on what I lack, what I don't have, what traumas I do have etc... And, I can put my attention on the calm moment that I am in, NOW, the food I just ate, and the fact that my body is satisfied, the shelter I do have... (You get my idea!) Both are here... And now. For the sake of fairness, I will allow myself to cry my pains, in the moment if/when they come/arise, AND also acknowledge the beauty I still have in my life NOW. Pain? Yes. Suffering? Indeed. And, also: wonderous magical divine beauty. Blessings to you!

I don’t know the stuff about rewarding him for cleaning up his shirts. I feel like I would be very sexually turned off by this. Like, this is how I am with my three male children, teaching them how to clean the house with me. Rewarding them and praising them for their efforts, and asking them to observe how the room feels now that it is clean. Some of the advice here is solid, but I feel some of it is very mother/ child dynamic.

If they don’t want to hear this, they can just turn off the lights and respect the speed limit !

I have found that saying grace and holding hands, before a meal, creates a bond.
